The Department is responsible for both Professional Regulation and Business Regulation. Our professionals are organized into the following divisions: Certified Public Accounting, Professions, Real Estate and Regulation, and they are supported by our Bureau of Education and Testing. Our businesses are organized as Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes, Hotels and Restaurants, and Pari-Mutuel Wagering. Professional Regulation

• Certified Public Accounting

  Regulates Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and processes applications for examination, licensure, reactivation, temporary permitting, and continuing education.

• Education and Testing

  The Bureau of Education and Testing oversees DBPR required licensure examinations and continuing education requirements.

  Protects the public by regulation of real estate and appraisal licensees through education and compliance.

• Regulation

  The enforcement authority for the professional boards and programs.

Business Regulation

• Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco

  Licenses the alcoholic beverage and tobacco industries, collects and audits taxes and fees, and enforces the laws and regulation of the alcoholic beverage and tobacco industries.

• Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes

  Enforces and ensures compliance with laws that govern Condominiums, Mobile Homes. Timeshares and Yacht Brokers.

• Hotels and Restaurants

  Inspects and regulates public lodging and food service establishments in Florida. Licenses and regulate elevators and escalators.

• Pari-Mutuel Wagering

  Ensures compliance with the pari-mutuel laws and rules.
