2. Request approval to renew the digital image driver license contract for a three-year period.

   In August 1995, approval was given to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to enter into a contract with Unisys Corporation for the digital image driver license system. This was a five-year contract effective October 1, 1995 - September 30, 2000.

   Pursuant to Request for Proposal 065-95, paragraph 3.12, the agency has the option to renew for an additional three-year period contingent upon satisfactory performance evaluation (attached). We request authority to renew this contract for the term October 1, 2000 - September 30, 2003. The renewal price will be $.53 per license for the three-year renewal period.
