ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION AGENDA June 12, 2003 1. Request
approval of the minutes of the meeting held December 11,
2002. 2. Request
approval of the minutes of the meeting held January 28,
2003. 3. Appointment
of a selection committee for the statewide advertisement, review, and
recommendation of no less than five names to the Administration Commission
for the purpose of appointing a Director and Chief Administrative Law
Judge of the Division of Administrative Hearings within the Department of
Management Services.
Section 120.65, Florida Statutes, authorizes the Administration
Commission, with Senate confirmation, to appoint a director of the
Division of Administrative Hearings (DOAH) within the Department of
Management Services. The
director also serves as DOAH's chief administrative law judge. Sharyn Smith, DOAH's current
director, is scheduled to retire effective June 30, 2003. A discussion by the Administration
Commission is necessary in order to begin the selection process for a
director replacement.
