1. Approval of the minutes for the January 23, 1996, Cabinet meeting.

2. Approval of the quarterly report for the quarter ending December 1995.

3. Request authority to take final agency action on the Recommended Order for Case

No. 95-5382BID, Amdahl Corporation vs. Department of Highway Safety and

Motor Vehicles, and Unisys Corporation, and enter a Final Order adopting the

Hearing Officer's Recommended Order.

Also request authority to enter into a contract with Unisys Corporation for a

distributed server system, which is an integrated relational database for motor

vehicles and driver licenses, communicating through a high speed frame relay

network resulting in faster, less expensive processing, with less downtime, and

fewer programming maintenance hours.

The effective date of the contract shall be the date it is signed by the vendor and

the Department; and pursuant to Request for Proposal No. 046-95 Rebid, the

contract shall remain in effect for three years with two one-year optional renewals.

The contract with Unisys will provide the distributed server systems and support

at a total cost of $2,445,012.90. Unisys scored the highest points overall and was

also the lowest bid.
