1. Request approval to contract with the Department of Management Services, Division of Building Construction, for administration procurement and construction contractual services to renovate office space in accordance with the attached schedule of estimated costs. The renovations are required by the Division of Driver Licenses, Bureau of Customer Services, in order to provide a contiguous functional area for telephone analysts who respond to customer inquiries regarding driver licenses, automobile insurance and related issues.

The office area to be renovated is "A" Wing, Second Floor, Neil Kirkman Building. The contract amount is $48,665 and is exempt from bidding pursuant to s. 287.057(3)(f), Florida Statutes.

2. The Department obtained a $140,000 grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to promote safety belt use in Florida. This grant will allow a statewide media program for the dissemination of Florida Highway Patrol public service messages, supplied to member radio stations by the Florida Association of Broadcasters.

To the best of our knowledge, this service is only available from Florida Association of Broadcasters. Sole source approval was granted by Division of Purchasing February 15, 1996.

In accordance with Rule 60A-1.008(4), FAC, we request approval to purchase this service from Florida Association of Broadcasters at a cost of $140,000 as a sole source vendor.
