1. Approval of the Minutes for the September 26, 1996, Cabinet
meeting.
2. Recommend reappointment of the following doctors to a four-year term on the
Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' Medical Advisory Board
provided for by Section 322.125(1), Florida Statutes:
Dr. Roger E. Phillips, Psychiatrist, Orlando
Dr. Larry C. Strongoski, Emergency Medicine, Tallahassee
Dr. Jeffrey B. Raskin, Gastroenterologist, Miami
These physicians are in good standing with the Florida Medical Association and
the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

3. Request approval to contract with the Department of Management Services,
Division of Building Construction, for administration, procurement, and
construction contractual services to renovate office space in accordance with the
attached schedule of estimated costs. The renovations are required by the
Department in order to provide a one stop walk-in customer service center to
respond to customer needs regarding driver licenses, automobile insurance,
automobile titles and registrations, truck tags and related issues. The area to be
renovated is "B" wing, first floor, Neil Kirkman Building. The contract amount
will be $125,500.

4. Due to the revised Florida Rider Training Program, it became necessary to cancel
the five contracts we entered into with the various entities and replace them with
annual contracts. This action is being taken to ensure sufficient funds are
obligated annually and to improve program management.
Request approval to enter into new contracts with private safety councils. These
contracts are with Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Personal Motorcycle

Safety, Inc., Central Florida Chapter - National Safety Council, Manatee
Community College, Robinson Adult & Community School, and Motorcycle
Safety of Florida, Inc., and to provide an education facility for the purpose of
educating the public on motorcycle safety pursuant to Section 322.0255, Florida
Statutes.
These contracts will become effective November 8, 1996, and run through
June 30, 1997. The estimated cost per contract ranges from $30,000 to $60,000
depending upon the number of applicants that successfully complete the
motorcycle course. Funding for this program is provided by Section 320.08(1),
Florida Statutes.
