AGENDA
1. Approval of the Minutes for the April 28, 1998, Cabinet meeting.
2. Approval of the quarterly report for the period ending March 1998.

3. Recommend appointment of the following doctor to a four-year term on the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles’ Medical Advisory Board provided for by Section 322.125(1), Florida Statutes:
Catherine Larned, M.D., Psychiatrist, Cape Coral
This physician is in good standing with the Florida Medical Association and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

4. Pursuant to provisions of Section 287.059(4), Florida Statutes, and approval by the Attorney General to contract with private counsel on a contingent fee basis to handle certain forfeiture litigation, final approval is requested for expenditure of funds for the above referenced legal services through June 30, 1999.

5. Request approval to enter into new contracts with private motorcycle rider
training schools whose annual estimated expenditures are in excess of $25,000.
These contracts are with Personal Motorcycle Safety, Inc.; Central Florida
Chapter-National Safety Council; CM III, Inc.; and Motorcycle Safety of Florida, Inc.
These contracts will become effective August 1, 1998, and run through June 30, 1999. The estimated cost per contract depends upon the number of applicants that successfully complete the motorcycle course. The rates are $50 for each trainee under 21 years of age and $30 for persons over 21. Funding for this program is provided by Section 322.0255(1), Florida Statutes.
