1. Approval of the Minutes for the March 9, 1999, Cabinet meeting.

2. In April 1998, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles acquired from Canopy Software development services for a software package for a Customer Service Expert System to enhance the delivery of services to customers with driver licensing inquiries and problems. The project resulted in a prototype containing screens, menus and other navigational aids.

The Department wishes to continue these efforts to build upon the design work already completed. Canopy Software is proposing to develop the customer service support system in accordance with the attached proposal at a cost of $165,000 and the first year's maintenance of $16,500 for a total cost of $181,500. This proposal is for custom software development only. No computer hardware or third party software is provided as a part of the proposal.

The State Purchasing Office has assigned sole source approval number E-0389.
